Cuarteto Árbol, for amplified string quartet
In this piece I explored in a poetical way the sound world of trees and forests.
To do this I imagined a narrative about a tree provided with human qualities, so that we could listen to it breathing, moving or talking.
I use an amplified string quartet as an enormous tree body, showing almost microscopically the sound world of the tree matter.
During the first part of the piece, memories of past days and nights are represented by the everyday forest sounds, but also by dark moving shadows or images of lights along the leaves.
In the second part, our big tree starts a dark and slow song showing us its tremendously heavy sound, but becoming lighter and faster step-by-step, starting a metamorphosis and with this, the beginning of its departure.
